New Paltz sophomore outside hitter Tim Ferriter hit .422 and averaged 4.50 kills per set in a 5-0 week for the Hawks. New Paltz won the Springfield Invitational title over the weekend, going 4-0 at the event. Ferriter only saw action against New Paltz's two nationally-ranked opponents this week, helping the Hawks beat the top two teams in the AVCA NCAA Division III Men's Coaches Top-15 Poll on Friday. It marked New Paltz's first-ever wins over the top two teams in Division III in one day. Ferriter provided 10 kills and hit .316 against No. 1 Rivier University, helping vault the Hawks past the Raiders, 3-0. He then hit .500 with 17 kills and added three total blocks versus No. 2 Springfield College, helping New Paltz win, 3-0.
