Senior outside hitter Gabe Shankweiler had phenomenal week for third-ranked Stevens, as he guided the Ducks to three consecutive wins and extended the team’s win streak to six matches to open the 2017 campaign. Shankweiler amassed 49 kills in the three contests, highlighted by a season-high 18-kill performance in a 3-0 win over Medaille. The Allentown, Pennsylvania, native averaged 16.3 kills in the three matches, as well as 4.9 kills per set, on an ultra-high .575 attack percentage (49k-7e-73ta). Shankweiler’s efficient hitting was not an isolated occurrence, as the senior leads the UVC in attack percentage with a .485 success rate.
