Newman made the most of his collegiate debut over the weekend as he helped lead the No. 11 Cardinals to three straight sweeps after Fisher defeated Geneva, Hilbert and Medaille. Newman posted a team-leading 46 assists over five sets played to go along with 10 service aces, five kills and four digs. Against Hilbert, Newman posted a game-high 28 helpers to go along with a game-high seven aces before closing out the week with 18 assists and three more aces against the Mavericks.
