Defending Champion Ducks Picked to Defend Their UVC Title by League's Coaches
Stevens Edges New York University for Top Spot
Defending United Volleyball Conference champion Stevens has been selected by the league's head coaches to defend their conference title as the 2019 Coaches' Poll was released today. The Ducks received six more points than NYU for the top spot, while New Paltz was selected to finish third by the league's ten head coaches.

Stevens, whick knocked off Vassar in last year's championship match, received six of the ten first-place votes and 78 points overall to earn the top spot. NYU received three first-place nods, while New Paltz received one. NYU earned 72 points, five more than New Paltz (67). Vassar was picked by the coaches to finish fourth and received 50 points. MIT checked in 5th with 48 points.
Nazareth was tabbed to finish 6th in this year's coaches poll as they received 39 points in the voting. Elmira was just behind the Golden Flyers, earning 37 points to pick up the seventh spot. Rounding out this year's UVC Coaches' Poll were St. John Fisher (33), Sage (15), and Bard (11).
This year's UVC Championship is scheduled to take place April 12th and 13th.
ABOUT THE UNITED VOLLEYBALL CONFERENCE
The UVC is a volleyball-specific conference that features ten member institutions. The conference was founded in 2010 and began play in January of 2011. The UVC holds fair play and respect among it's competitors to the highest regard and seeks to distinguish itself among its peer group for its quality institutions, spirited and sportsmanlike competition, outstanding services and highly ethical policies and practices.
