Below are the United Volleyball Conference (UVC) Players of the Week, released on April 14, 2025, for matches played from April 7-April 13. It is the 14th and final UVC weekly honors release of the 2025 season.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Emerson Evans, NYU, So., OH/MH, Huntington Beach, CA/Edison
Evans was named the 2025 United Volleyball Championship Most Valuable Player after hitting a remarkable .474 with 32 kills, six blocks, six digs, and four service aces during tournament play, leading the No. 1 Violets to their second straight UVC Championship. He opened the weekend by slamming a career-high equaling 19 kills four service aces and three blocks in the four-set win over New Paltz before adding 13 more kills, while hitting .522, four digs and three blocks in the three-set championship match victory over Nazareth. It is Evans’ second UVC weekly honor of 2025.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Nikko Tenedorio, SUNY New Paltz, Fr., OH, Bay Shore, NY/Bay Shore
Tenedorio slammed 23 kills, added 16 digs, five blocks and four service aces, while leading SUNY New Paltz to the UVC Semifinals. He began the tournament with 14 kills, nine digs, and four blocks, while hitting .296 in the fifth-seeded Hawks, five-set win over No. 4 seed St. John Fisher in opening round action. Tenedorio had nine kills, seven digs and three service aces in a four-set loss to No. 1 NYU in semifinal action Saturday. It is Tenedorio’s fifth UVC Rookie of the Week honor in 2025.
