UVC Well Represented as Nine Student-Athletes Earn 2026 AVCA Division III All-America Honors

Nine United Volleyball Conference student-athletes earned 2026 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division III All-America accolades, announced on Monday, April 20. Henry Bonney and Armaan Desai of Vassar College and Emerson Evans of NYU garnered first team honors. The NYU trio of Charlie Clifford, Devyn Nguyen and Bennet Tchiakovsky earned second team accolades. Braeden Baker of MIT, in addition to Geoff Ndoria and Nikko Tenedorio of SUNY New Paltz were honorable mention selections.
 
Clifford was also named the AVCA National Newcomer of the Year.
 
Four of the nine student-athletes honored are repeat selections. Desai, Evans, Nguyen and Tenedorio are now two-time All-Americans. Four of the eight UVC institutions were represented on the AVCA All-America teams, while NYU led all of Division III with a four All-Americans. Previously, all nine student-athletes garnered AVCA Region II First Team honors.
  
FIRST TEAM
Bonney, a sophomore outside hitter from Cambridge, MA, garnered All-UVC Second Team finished second on the team in kills with 204 and led the team in points per set at 4.02 and kills per set at 3.46. Bonney also ranked third on the team in blocks with 44 and was second in blocks per set at 0.75. In Bonney's 16 matches played this season, he recorded double-digit kills in 12 of those matches and hit .347 on the season. He tallied a career-high 21 kills, while hitting .488, against No. 1 Springfield and notched a career-high eight blocks, including three solo, in that win over Springfield.
 
Desai, a junior middle blocker from Pennington, NJ, earned All-UVC First Team honors this season, as he led the team in blocks with 94, solo blocks with 29 and was third on the squad in kills with 181. Desai was named an AVCA Honorable Mention All-American in 2025 and this season, Desai recorded new career-highs in kills (181), kills per set (2.32), solo blocks (29), total blocks (94), blocks per set (1.21), points (256.5) and points per set (3.29). Desai buried a new career-high in kills with 20 against NYU. Desai finished the season third in the country at 1.21 blocks per set.
 
Evans, a native of Huntington Beach, CA, was previously named the 2026 UVC Player of the Year and earned a spot on the 2026 UVC Championship All-Tournament Team. Evans led the UVC in both kills and points per set. He is eighth nationally, averaging 4.13 kills per set and is seventh in Division III with 4.84 points per set. Evans has recorded at least 10 kills in a match 18 times this season, including 10 matches with at least 20 kills.
 
SECOND TEAM
In his first collegiate season, Clifford, a native of Glen Ellyn, IL, was strong in the Violets' attack. He led in service aces (26) and was second in kills (295) and kills per set (3.17). In the United Volleyball Conference (UVC), he was in the top five in both kills and total points. Clifford was the UVC Rookie of the Year, was a two-time UVC Rookie of the Week, and was named the AVCA Region II Rookie of the Year.
 
Nguyen, a junior setter from Sage Creek, CA, led the UVC and NYU in assists (911), was second nationally in assists per set (10.36), and was second on the Violets in digs (157) and digs per set (1.78). He was named UVC Co-Player of the Year, NCAA All-Region, UVC All-Conference First Team, AVCA All-Region II, and Morgan Classic All-Tournament Team. He recorded at least 40 assists in a match eight times and 50 or more four times, including a career-high 58 earlier in the season against North Central.
 
Tchaikovsky, a sophomore, led the UVC in digs (260) and digs per set (2.77), and was named the UVC Libero of the Year. He was also named to the AVCA All-Region II Team and hails from Huntington Beach, CA. 

HONORABLE MENTION
Baker, a native of Phoenix, AZ, enjoyed a breakout season for the Engineer, who won the 2026 UVC Championship and advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals. He was an All-UVC first team pick and finished the year with 250 kills and a .251 hitting percentage while averaging 3.16 kills per set. He has 15 matches with at least 10 kills and put up a career-high 28 against NYU on March 7. Additionally, Baker was named the AVCA Division III Player of the Week on March 10. 
 
Ndoria, a junior outside hitter from Ronkonkoma, NY, earned UVC First team honors, while leading New Paltz to the NCAA Quarterfinals. He played in 31 matches, starting 27 with 100 sets played. He scored 303.5 points, second among the Hawks, only behind teammate Nikko Tenedorio. He was also second with 251 kills with a hitting percentage of .348, landing him in the top 50 in Division III. Ndoria also contributed 136 digs, 25 service aces and 37 blocks overall.
 
Tenedorio, who was named the AVCA Division III Newcomer of the Year in 2025, enjoyed a tremendous sophomore season for New Paltz, who advanced to the UVC Championship match in 2026. He started 29 of 30 matches, playing 107 sets; leading the team in kills with 320 and points with 381. A native of Bay Shore, NY, Tenedorio was second in digs with 150 and third in service aces with 29 and blocks with 54. His best overall performance was in an early season match against Juniata College, leading with 19 kills in 40 attempts, hitting .350, with three service aces, eight digs and two blocks.
