Below are the United Volleyball Conference (UVC) Players of the Week, released on Feb. 17, 2020 for games played from Feb. 11-Feb. 16. It is the fifth UVC weekly honors release of the 2020 season.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Matthew Grace, New Paltz, Sr., S, Holbrook, NY/Sachem North
Grace recorded 79 assists (11.3 per set) in two wins over the weekend against Arcadia and UVC rival Nazareth, while adding two kills, three service aces, eight digs and two blocks. He recorded 30 assists in a three-set win over Nazareth before dishing out 49 helpers in a four-set win over a strong non-conference foe in Arcadia. Grace leads the UVC with 10.3 assists per set in 2020.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Nicholas Gustafson, MIT, Fr., OH, San Diego, CA/Francis Parker
Gustafson guided the Engineers to a 3-0 week in addition to their first UVC win of the season on Friday against Elmira. In three matches, Gustafson registered a team-high 28 kills (3.11 per set), a hitting percentage of .346, four digs and eight block assists. In MIT's UVC opener against Elmira, Gustafson was nearly perfect as he tallied ten kills on 11 swings, pacing the Engineers to a 3-0 sweep of the Soaring Eagles.

The United Volleyball Conference (UVC) is a volleyball-specific conference that features nine member institutions. The conference was founded in 2010 and began play in January of 2011.
