United Volleyball Conference Players of the Week – March 11, 2024

Below are the United Volleyball Conference (UVC) Players of the Week, released on March 11, 2024, for matches played from March 4-March 10. It is the ninth UVC weekly honors release of the 2024 season.
 
CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Andrew Kim, Hobart, Gr., OH, Rancho Santa Margarita, CA/Mission Viejo
Kim led No. 14 Hobart College to an important 2-1 week in UVC play, grabbing crucial wins over No. 15 Nazareth and SUNY New Paltz. The Statesmen's lone loss came to No. 13 NYU in a five-set thriller on Sunday. Through three matches, Kim put down 66 kills, hitting an impressive .455, while adding 26 digs, seven aces, six blocks, five service aces and four assists. Against Nazareth, Kim slammed 18 kills, while hitting a remarkable .708 in the sweep of the Golden Flyers. He followed that with up with 20 kills, while hitting .514 against New Paltz and 28 kills against NYU. Kim averaged 5.50 kills per set, 2.17 digs per set and 6.38 points per set in the three matches last week. Kim leads the nation in kills per set (5.62) and points per set (6.35) and is now a four-time UVC Player of the Week.
 
CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Pat Wing, New Paltz, Gr., OPP/MH, Massapequa, NY/Massapequa
Wing slammed 61 kills with 15 digs, as the Hawks went 2-1 on the week, which included a non-conference win over No. 4 Springfield College. He began the week with 19 kills, four digs, three service aces in New Paltz’s first win over Springfield since 2016, a five-set win. On Saturday, he hit .333 with 17 kills and six digs in a four-set loss against No. 14 Hobart. Wing ended the week by slamming 25 kills, while hitting .444 in a four-set win over UVC foe Elmira. Wing earned his second UVC Player of the Week honor.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Zack Farren, Hobart, Fr., S, Southbury, CT/Pomperaug
Farren led the Hobart to a 2-1 week in league play, as the Statesmen picked up crucial UVC wins over No. 15 Nazareth and SUNY New Paltz. Farren tallied 130 assists, 15 digs, and two blocks in the three matches, while averaging 10.83 assists per set and 1.25 digs per set. In a five-set loss to No. 13 NYU, Farren posted his second double-double of the season as he recorded 47 assists and a career-high 13 digs. He currently leads the conference and ranks fifth in the nation in assists per set (9.97). Farren leads a Hobart offense that ranks second in the conference and third in the nation in assists per set (11.84). It is Farren’s second straight and third overall UVC weekly accolade of the 2024 season.
