ANGOLA, IN – The St. John Fisher University men's volleyball team opened the 2025 season with a three-set sweep of Trine University on Friday night to conclude the first day of the Trine Quad Match at Hershey Hall.

The Cardinals, which opened the season tied for No. 11 in Division III in the AVCA Coaches Poll, won set one 25-12, set two 25-16 and set three 25-18. They trailed Trine just once in the match (2-1 in set three).

Graduate senior Jake Baker led the Cardinals with 12 kills and hit .435.

Senior Ian Rauh slammed nine kills and registered a team-high .750 hitting percentage.

Two other Cardinals – graduate senior Griffin Stella (seven kills) and junior Casey Jackson (five kills) – logged hitting percentages over 300 in the match. Stella hit .462, while Jackson hit .364.

Stella also led Fisher in blocks (4). Baker had three; Rauh had two.

Senior setter Gavin Newman amassed a match-high 27 assists. Senior libero Trace La Robardiere recorded a match-best nine digs.
