Below are the United Volleyball Conference (UVC) Players of the Week, released on February 24, 2025, for matches played from February 17-February 23. It is the seventh UVC weekly honors release of the 2025 season.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Griffin Stella, St. John Fisher, Gr., MB, Churchville, NY/Churchville-Chili
Stella hit .636 with 24 kills and six blocks for the nationally-ranked Cardinals in seven sets last week. On Friday, Stella slammed 14 kills and recorded three blocks to lead the Cardinals to a sweep of previously undefeated Elmira College in a key UVC conference contest on Friday night. He hit .756 in the match. On Saturday, Stella He had eight kills and hit over .600 against No. 6 Juniata on Saturday. He also had a match-best three blocks in the contest.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Alain Malcolm, Hobart, Fr., MB, Los Gatos, CA/Archbishop Mitty
Malcolm led the No. 11 Hobart volleyball team to a 2-0 weekend with wins over Penn State Behrend and Buffalo State on Saturday to move to 17-2 on the season. Malcolm combined for 10 kills, a .400 hitting percentage, four blocks, three digs and an assist through seven sets. Against the Lions, Malcolm tallied seven kills (.429), three blocks and three digs in the four-set win. He then recorded three kills (.333), one block and an assist in the sweep of the Bengals.
