WILKES-BARRE, PA – The St. John Fisher men's volleyball team swept Hood College (25-13, 25-11, 25-9) and King's College (25-18, 25-10, 25-19) on Saturday. With the results, the Cardinals improved to 15-9 overall.
How It Happened: St. John Fisher 3, Hood 0
The Cardinals pounded 12 kills and hit .500 as a team in a 25-13 victory in the first set. Senior outside hitter Gabe La Robardiere had five kills and hit .625, while fellow senior outside Casey Jackson had four and hit .667.
Sophomore outside hitter Nathan Dreger aced four serves and had two kills to lead Fisher to a 25-11 victory in the second set. The Cardinals had eight kills and registered a .357 hitting percentage as a team in the frame. Hood struggled offensively again, managing just four kills with seven errors on 21 attack attempts.
The Cardinals finished off the sweep with a 25-9 drubbing of Hood in the third set. Fisher had five service aces in that frame, with sophomore libero Connor Carwile accounting for three of them. Junior outside hitter Sonepith Keoviengsamay slammed three kills on a .333 hitting percentage.

The teams went back and forth early in the first set before the Cardinals separated with a 7-0 run to take a 19-13 lead. The Cardinals hit .423 and slammed 14 kills in the 25-18 victory. Junior middle blocker Guillermo Perez accounted for four kills while hitting .400, and freshman outside hitter Avery Kielbasinski had three kills and two service aces.
Fisher dominated King's in the second set, smashing 13 kills while hitting .429 en route to a 25-10 victory. Kielbasinski had the hot hand for the Cardinals in the set, as he pounded seven kills and logged a .545 hitting percentage.
In the third set, Fisher went on a 10-2 run to take a commanding 19-12 lead and soon after finished off the victory, 25-19, to complete the sweep. Sophomore outside hitter Coleton Welter had six kills while hitting .500 in the frame.
