Below are the United Volleyball Conference (UVC) Players of the Week, released on March 9, 2026, for matches played from March 2 – March 8. It is the ninth UVC weekly honors release of the 2026 season.
CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Braeden Baker, MIT, So., OH, Phoenix, AZ/Sandra Day O’Connor
Baker collected 38 kills and hit .385 in a 2-0 week against UVC foes for the No. 16 Engineers which featured an upset win over No. 8 NYU as the Engineers reverse swept the Violets on Saturday, behind 28 kills from Baker. In the match against NYU Baker hit .377 and had four blocks and two aces. In a three-set win over Elmira on Friday, he hit .615 with 10 kills. Overall, Baker averaged 4.75 kills and 5.38 points per set during the week.
CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Nikko Tenedorio, SUNY New Paltz, So., OH, Bay Shore, NY/Bay Shore
Tenedorio was the offensive catalyst in back-to-back wins on the week for the Hawks against top-ranked opponents. In a five-set victory over No. 1 Springfield on Wednesday, Tenedorio tallied a match-high 16 kills on 32 attempts, hitting a productive .438, while adding four blocks and seven digs with a game-high 18.5 points. In a three-set sweep of No. 4 Stevens on the road Saturday, Tenedorio added a team-high 12 kills with two blocks and seven digs for 13 points.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Colin Zimmerman, MIT, Fr., S, Phoenix, AZ/Brophy College Prep
Zimmerman collected a total of 77 assists and 14 digs while contributing six kills, four aces and seven blocks in a 2-0 week for the No. 16 Engineers. In Friday's sweep on Elmira, Zimmerman dished out 24 assists and had five digs and added four kills and one ace. In the five-set reverse sweep upset win over No. 8 NYU, Zimmerman put up a career-best 53 assists while adding nine digs, two kills and three aces. Overall, he averaged just under 10 assists per set and recorded 1.75 digs per set.
